![]() I like it tucked in and not as protruding I suppose.Īctually, I have mulled over the idea of adding a second one beside it but not sure if it would be alot louder with 2 horns? (kind of like the dual horn Hella setup. Thats why I went the route with the spacer and mounted it directly in front of the mounting hole. Yeah, i could have mounted mine without the spacer, but with the M4 headers it would have pushed the horn out to the left of the bike maybe 1 inch from the stock horn location and I didnt particular like that. I think that front bracket thats painted comes off with a few screws doesnt it? Sure sounds way better and louder than my mostly-broken stock horn did!It wouldnt be too hard to paint the horn. It just has to sit a bit more to the left, but the stock bracket can swing around that far no problem. With stock pipes it's literally a 2 minute job to install, at most. I have the red version, since I ordered it before I repainted my Hawk. Here is the stock horn compared to the sickspeed horn mounted. Here is a link plus some photos of the stock horn and Sickspeed horn mounted, along with a couple smallsound clips of the difference. In this case, I figured a few decibal lower wouldnt hurt as long as the horn was heard. I beleive the sickspeed horn will do that.īottom lime is that if the stebil horn had worked out of the box and I wasnt reluctant to ordering another one, I would have preferred the stebil, mainky because I am as much or a sound whore as I am as much of a light whore. I dont need to blow someones doors off with the horn, but wanted something loud enough to turn someones head and get their attention if I needed to. Now the sickspeedhorn (118db) is not as loud as the Stebil compact horn (132db) but it is still pretty loud as it and I believe plenty loud enough to be heard, especially compared to the stock horn. Plus, it worked right out of the box unlike the Stebil. It looks sturdy and the powdercoat on them seemed nice also. The overall review is that the sickspeed horn seems to be made well. With the sockspeed horn, it mounts easily in about the same area the stock horn does. The big difference compared to the stebil compact and this one is with the stebil horn, you need to split up the compressor and the horn and use different mount points as the size of it is alittle big to mount in the stock position. Just use the stock ekectrical wires and you are done. Its plug and play and bno relay was needed for the install. I only needed and a small 1.5" spacer I had in the garage. The sickspeed horn comes with 3 different mounting brackets. Also with the m4 pipes, I have to get a longer bolt and add a spacer to space it about 1.5" out from the stock mount or it would hit the header. Installation was easy, The sickspeed horn is alittle larger than the stock horn so the mounting potion changed slightly. ![]() It tookonly 4 days from ordering it to having it at my door. At right at 20 bucks, it was worth a shot. Well, somce returning the stebil, a couple mentioned the Sickspeed horn and talked about how loud it was so i decided to give it a try. A few members have got the Stebil without problems and that was the reason i got it, that and because it was loud. I originally got the stebil nautilus compact horn but it didnt work out of the box, so i returned it. I recently purchased one of the sickspeed horns.
